Rep. David Kustoff, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 8th district since 2017, has been active on social media addressing several issues of national concern. Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1966 and a graduate of the University of Memphis, Kustoff has used his platform to highlight problems ranging from prison crimes to antisemitism.
On June 4, 2025, Rep. Kustoff emphasized the nationwide issue of crimes orchestrated from behind prison walls. He expressed support for efforts made by Florida officials to tackle this problem: “Crimes orchestrated from behind prison walls are not just a Florida problem but are a nationwide problem.” He praised Attorney General James Uthmeier and law enforcement for their crackdown on contraband cellphones within Florida prisons.
Later that day, Kustoff addressed the issue of hate crimes under the current administration’s leadership. In his discussion with Connell McShane on NewsNation regarding an attack in Colorado, he stated: “Under the leadership of @POTUS, there will be zero tolerance for any hate crime, any antisemitism…” This statement underscores his stance against antisemitism and violence directed at Jewish communities.
Additionally, Rep. Kustoff shared insights from his meeting with members of real estate associations in Tennessee. On June 4, he mentioned meeting individuals such as Bob Turner and Sue Turner from Shelby County and others involved with realtors’ associations: “Great to meet with members of @TNAOR…” This engagement reflects his ongoing involvement with local community leaders.
