Kustoff, who succeeded Stephen Fincher in 2017, has been an active voice on various issues including historical commemorations and legislative developments.
On May 8, 2025, Rep. Kustoff marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day with a tweet reflecting on the significance of this historical event. He stated, “80 years ago, the Allied forces defeated Germany in Europe – signifying the end of the Nazi war machine. May we never forget the sacrifice and bravery of the men and women who fought for freedom.”
Later that day, he announced a legislative achievement with a brief message celebrating a successful vote in Congress. His tweet read: ” Passed the House of Representatives “ This update highlighted his involvement in recent legislative processes.
In another post on May 8, Rep. Kustoff commented on a significant international development involving trade relations between the United States and the United Kingdom. He tweeted: ” Today, @POTUS unveiled a historic U.S.-UK trade deal. $5B in new market access, $6B in tariff revenue, and a stronger alliance! @realDonaldTrump keeps delivering on his promises! This is America First!” This announcement underscores his support for economic policies underpinned by international agreements.
David Kustoff was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1966 and resides in Germantown. He holds both a BA and JD from the University of Memphis.
