Rep. David Kustoff, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 8th district, has shared a series of updates on his social media account. Kustoff, who succeeded Stephen Fincher in 2017 and resides in Germantown, Tennessee, expressed his views on recent international developments and domestic policies.
On May 12, 2025, Rep. Kustoff highlighted a significant development in U.S.-China relations by stating “Promises made, promises kept! For too many years China has ripped off American intellectual property, workers, and consumers.” He praised the current administration for striking a “historic trade deal” in Geneva aimed at resetting U.S.-China trade dynamics.
Later that day, Kustoff celebrated the release of Edan Alexander with the post: “Edan Alexander, the last living Israeli-American hostage taken on October 7, 2023, is officially out of Hamas captivity.” He extended a warm welcome to Alexander upon his return home.
In another post from May 12, Rep. Kustoff reiterated his commitment to Second Amendment rights by stating “I am committed to the fight for full removal of suppressors from the NFA.” He advocates for reforms to what he describes as “unconstitutional restrictions on law-abiding gun owners.”
David Kustoff was born in Memphis in 1966 and graduated from the University of Memphis with both a BA and JD. His career has been marked by his efforts within Congress since taking office in Tennessee’s 8th District.
