Rep. David Kustoff, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 8th district, shared a series of tweets on July 4, 2025, addressing various topics from Independence Day celebrations to legislative matters concerning gun rights and Medicaid.
On July 4, 2025, Rep. Kustoff expressed his festive spirit by wishing his constituents a happy Independence Day. He wrote: “Happy Independence Day, West Tennessee! As we mark 249 years since the founding of our great nation, we celebrate the freedom and liberties we still enjoy today. Roberta and I wish you all a safe and Happy Fourth of July!”
Later that day, Kustoff took to social media to discuss a legislative victory for gun owners within President Biden’s legislation. He stated: “I was proud to lead the fight to secure a major victory for the gun owners in @POTUS’ One Big, Beautiful Bill. The Second Amendment is not a second-class right. Registration and fingerprinting are inconsistent with our Constitutional liberties, and the NFA is an illegal poll.”
In another post on July 4th, Kustoff highlighted efforts by House Republicans to strengthen Medicaid for those most in need. He mentioned his appearance on CNN discussing this issue: “.@HouseGOP is working to ensure that Medicaid is strengthened for those who need it the most. : I joined @brikeilarcnn on @CNN to discuss @POTUS’ One Big Beautiful Bill.”
David Kustoff has been serving as a U.S Congressman since 2017 after replacing Stephen Fincher. Born in Memphis in 1966 and residing in Germantown, he holds degrees from the University of Memphis.
