David Kustoff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 8th district since 2017, recently shared updates on his Twitter account regarding legislative efforts and an incident of violence in Washington D.C. Kustoff, who resides in Germantown and holds degrees from the University of Memphis, engaged with social media to communicate his views and actions.
On May 22, 2025, Rep. Kustoff expressed confidence in the House GOP’s ability to pass significant legislation. He stated that “The American people are counting on @HouseGOP to send this One Big Beautiful Bill to the Senate! We will be working through the night to deliver on @POTUS’s agenda. It is time to get this done.” His message included appreciation for being featured on NewsNation.
Later that day, he addressed a tragic event in Washington D.C., describing it as a “horrific act of antisemitic terrorism.” In his tweet, he reported “Tonight’s shooting outside of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington D.C., killing two Israeli Embassy staff members… Antisemitic violence has no place in our society.” He extended condolences alongside his wife Roberta.
Finally, Kustoff announced a legislative success by confirming that H.R.1 had passed. On May 22, 2025, he declared ” PASSED – H.R.1 the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” He commended his party colleagues for their efforts.
David Kustoff was born in Memphis in 1966 and pursued higher education at the University of Memphis, where he obtained both a BA and JD before embarking on his political career.
