Rep. David Kustoff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 8th district since 2017, shared his thoughts on legislative matters through a series of tweets earlier this month. Born in Memphis in 1966 and currently residing in Germantown, Kustoff has been an active voice for his constituents. He holds degrees from the University of Memphis.
On July 7, Kustoff highlighted a significant legislative achievement by the House GOP, stating that they had passed what he referred to as “One Big Beautiful Bill”. The bill aims to protect family farms and small businesses from an increase in the estate tax exemption. Additionally, it includes provisions such as no tax on tips and overtime for American workers and reverses certain policies implemented under President Biden’s administration.
The following day, on July 8, Kustoff addressed concerns regarding foreign ownership of U.S. farmland. In a tweet directed at @RapidResponse47, he explained that “The National Farm Security Action Plan will help protect U.S. farmland from foreign ownership”. This plan is intended to secure agricultural research and address foreign control over the U.S. supply chain—a matter of particular importance for West Tennessee.
Later that day, Kustoff posted another tweet emphasizing his commitment to national priorities with a brief statement: “This is what it looks like to put America First!” The message underscores his dedication to policies that prioritize American interests.
