U.S. Representative David Kustoff, who has represented Tennessee’s 8th district since 2017, recently used his social media platform to highlight legislative action on swatting threats and meetings with key industry leaders in Tennessee.
On May 13, 2026, Kustoff posted about rising concerns over swatting incidents nationwide, referencing impacts on local schools: “Swatting threats are on the rise nationwide, even resulting in schools in Tennessee locking down. My bill, the Preserving Safe Communities by Ending Swatting Act, strengthens federal penalties for swatting, holding bad actors accountable.”
Later that day, Kustoff detailed a meeting with members of the Tennessee Road Builders Association. He wrote: “I had a good meeting with members of the Tennessee Road Builders Association, including Executive Vice President @KentStarwalt, Vice President of @WrightBrosConst Tony Boals from Dyer County, Dave Paris with Kiewit Infrastructure from Shelby County, and Vice President of Ford” (May 13, 2026).
In another post from May 13, Kustoff shared appreciation for energy leadership in the region: “It was great meeting with Tennessee Valley Authority (@TVAnews) Board Chair Mitch Graves and Interim President and CEO Mike Skaggs. I appreciate your leadership and work to provide reliable energy to millions of people across the Tennessee Valley region.”
Kustoff has served as U.S. Representative for Tennessee’s 8th District since replacing Stephen Fincher in 2017. Born in Memphis in 1966 and currently residing in Germantown at age 56, he holds both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Memphis.
