Congressman David Kustoff announced on Apr. 10 the winner of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition during a reception at the West Tennessee Regional Art Center in Gibson County. Tammy Le, a student from Lakeland High Preparatory School, was named this year’s winner.
The annual competition is open to all high school students in Tennessee’s Eighth Congressional District and gives young artists an opportunity to showcase their talents. The winning artwork will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year.
“Congratulations to Tammy Le from Lakeland High Preparatory School for winning the Eighth Congressional District’s 2026 Congressional Art Competition,” said Congressman Kustoff. “Every year, I am impressed by the talented student artists across West Tennessee. I look forward to seeing Tammy’s piece, ‘Open 24/7,’ hang in the United States Capitol for the next year.”
David Kustoff has represented Tennessee’s 8th district in Congress since replacing Stephen Fincher in 2017, according to public records. He was born in Memphis in 1966 and currently lives in Germantown; he graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 and earned his Juris Doctor there as well three years later.
The Congressional Art Competition continues to highlight creative achievements among high school students while connecting local communities with their representatives.
