Representative David Kustoff, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Tennessee’s 8th district since 2017, recently shared updates on his activities and accomplishments through social media. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Kustoff graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in 1989 and later earned a JD in 1992.
On July 9, 2025, Kustoff stated “Last year, President Trump promised to cut taxes and sign a bill that puts America First.” He further mentioned that this year the House GOP fulfilled that promise by passing what he described as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” aimed at benefiting families, farmers, and small businesses across America.
Later that day, Kustoff announced “I’m excited to announce that I’ve been reappointed as Chair [of] the House-Knesset Parliamentary Friendship Group for the 119th Congress.” He emphasized the significance of the U.S.-Israel relationship and expressed gratitude towards Speaker Johnson for entrusting him with this role.
In another post on July 9, Kustoff reflected on his visit with Jay Yeargin’s family in Weakley County by stating “I had a great time visiting with Jay Yeargin and his family today in Weakley County.” He thanked them for their involvement in West Tennessee’s agriculture sector.
Kustoff resides in Germantown and continues to actively engage with his constituents while representing their interests at the national level.
