Rep. David Kustoff, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 8th district since 2017, recently posted several statements on social media addressing economic policy, prison security, and military commemoration.
On August 6, 2025, Kustoff commented on Apple’s investment plans: “This is a big win for American workers and innovation. Apple’s additional $100B U.S. investment is a major milestone in bringing back American jobs and strengthening our economy. America First works! “
Later that day, he addressed prison security measures with reference to his legislative efforts: “Exactly right, @AGTimGriffin! My bill, the Cellphone Jamming Reform Act, would prevent contraband cellphone use in prisons by jamming cell signals. Criminals should not be allowed to use their prison cell as a crime command center. It is time to stop cellphone use from behind” (August 6, 2025).
On August 7, 2025, Kustoff marked National Purple Heart Day with a message of remembrance: “On National Purple Heart Day, we honor the courage and sacrifice of the brave men and women who have been wounded or lost their lives in service to our country. The Purple Heart stands as a reminder of their dedication and selflessness. Today, our thoughts are with these heroes,”
Kustoff has represented Tennessee’s 8th District since replacing Stephen Fincher in Congress in 2017. Born in Memphis in 1966 and currently residing in Germantown at age 56, he holds both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Memphis.
