Rep. David Kustoff, who represents Tennessee’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media regarding recent law enforcement developments and legislative efforts.
On August 5, 2025, Kustoff announced the apprehension of a suspect in a high-profile case: “It is a relief to share that Austin Robert Drummond, the suspect in the tragic quadruple homicide in Lake County, has been apprehended. I want to thank the @USMarshalsHQ (U.S. Marshals Service), the @FBI, and the @TBInvestigation (Tennessee Bureau of Investigation) for their” (August 5, 2025). The post highlighted his appreciation for federal and state law enforcement agencies involved in the arrest.
Later that same day, Kustoff addressed economic policy efforts by House Republicans and President Biden: “.@HouseGOP and @POTUS are boosting investments, bolstering energy dominance, and putting American workers first! https://t.co/BWsTJb62nG” (August 5, 2025).

Kustoff has represented Tennessee’s 8th District since replacing Stephen Fincher in 2017. He was born in Memphis in 1966 and currently resides in Germantown. His educational background includes both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Memphis.
