Kustoff, a Memphis native and University of Memphis graduate, highlighted interactions with local officials and discussed recent congressional votes.
On July 10, 2025, Kustoff posted about a meeting with public safety officials in Henderson County: “It was good to meet with Chief Jeff Middleton and members of the Lexington Police and Fire Departments in Henderson County. I’m grateful for their service and proud to support our emergency responders!”
Later that day, he referenced a conversation with an academic leader: “It was nice to meet with Senior Vice President Dave Clouse from @FreedHardeman University. I appreciated learning more about the university’s continued commitment to students and the community.”

David Kustoff succeeded Stephen Fincher as representative for Tennessee’s 8th district in 2017. He was born in Memphis in 1966, currently resides in Germantown, and holds both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Memphis.
