Rep. David Kustoff, who represents Tennessee’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on recent community engagements through a series of posts on August 13, 2025.
In a post published at 12:05 UTC, Kustoff wrote, “It was an honor to speak on Monday at the Celebration of the Life Ceremony of @FedEx Founder Frederick W. Smith in Memphis. Many people say that Fred Smith is the most significant Memphian in the city’s history. We greatly appreciate his tremendous service to our community, state”.
Later that day at 13:31 UTC, he posted about meeting with University of Memphis officials: “It was great meeting with Dr. Jenny Miles, Executive Director of the University of Memphis, Lambuth Campus, and Dr. Richard Bloomer, Dean of the College of Health Sciences of the University of Memphis.

At 16:25 UTC on August 13, Kustoff discussed a visit with healthcare leaders in Madison County: “I met with Tina Prescott, President and CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare, and Jeff Blankenship, CFO, in Madison County to discuss their work serving our communities.

Kustoff has represented Tennessee’s 8th District since replacing Stephen Fincher in Congress in 2017. He was born in Memphis in 1966 and currently resides in Germantown. Kustoff is an alumnus of the University of Memphis where he earned both his BA (1989) and JD (1992).
