Rep. David Kustoff, who has represented Tennessee’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently posted a series of tweets addressing national policy issues and legislative actions.

On January 20, 2026, Kustoff marked the anniversary of Donald Trump’s return to the presidency by stating: “365 days of President Trump back in the White House! Working alongside @POTUS, @HouseGOP has cut taxes, lowered energy costs, and unleashed investment in America. Promises made. Promises kept. “

The following day, on January 21, Kustoff referenced efforts to address nonprofit fraud with his Republican colleagues on the House Ways and Means Committee: “This week, I sent a letter with my @HouseGOP colleagues on the @WaysandMeansGOP urging the IRS to hold fraudulent nonprofits accountable. The ongoing fraud scandal in Minnesota has exposed the theft of potentially billions in taxpayer dollars. Serious reform is long overdue.”

Later that same day, Kustoff appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer to discuss trade and security policy under President Trump: “I joined @WolfBlitzer on @CNN to discuss President Trump’s strategy to negotiate better trade and security deals for the American people. @POTUS will continue putting American interests first. “

Kustoff succeeded Stephen Fincher as representative for Tennessee’s 8th congressional district beginning in 2017 and continues to serve from Germantown, Tennessee.
He was born in Memphis in 1966 and earned both his undergraduate degree (1989) and law degree (1992) from the University of Memphis.
