Rep. David Kustoff, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 8th District, has recently shared his views and activities through a series of tweets. Kustoff, who has been serving since 2017 after succeeding Stephen Fincher, provides insight into both local and national issues in his social media posts.
On April 29, 2025, Kustoff highlighted the accomplishments of President Trump in his first 100 days in office, reinforcing the president’s focus on national security and family priorities. He stated that “President Trump’s first 100 days: Secure Border, Stronger Military, and Families First! @POTUS, @WhiteHouse, @HouseGOP are delivering BIG for America!”
On April 30, 2025, Kustoff drew attention to the potential impact of the expiration of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on the residents of West Tennessee. He warned of a significant increase in taxes for average households, amounting to a potential 26% rise. Kustoff assured his constituents, stating that “If the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act expires at the end of this year, the average household in West TN could be forced to pay a 26% increase in taxes to Uncle Sam. @HouseGOP won’t let that happen.” He also mentioned his collaboration with fellow politicians, including @RepJasonSmith, to address this issue.
In another tweet on the same day, Kustoff expressed his appreciation after meeting with Tim Mills, the CEO of EMRCO, in Washington. He acknowledged Mills’ contributions to the local economy, noting that “It was great to sit down with the CEO of EMRCO Tim Mills in Washington. Thank you for creating and providing jobs in Dyer County.”
David Kustoff, aged 56, is a Memphis native and current Germantown resident. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1989 and a JD in 1992, both from the University of Memphis.
