Rep. David Kustoff, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 8th district since 2017, issued several statements on May 1, 2025, via his social media account addressing military appreciation, U.S.-Israel relations, and an educational visit to the U.S. Capitol.
On May 1, 2025, Kustoff marked Military Appreciation Month by expressing gratitude to American service members for their service. He tweeted: “Military Appreciation Month is a time to say thank you to all of our military service members for serving our country. We are grateful for your patriotism, bravery and dedication. @HouseGOP will always support our troops! “
Later that day, Kustoff recognized Israel’s Independence Day with a post celebrating the historical ties between the United States and Israel. He wrote: “Happy 77th Independence Day, Israel! In 1948, Israel declared its independence, a historic moment of resilience and hope. Today, the U.S.-Israel relationship is strengthened by our shared values and principles. “
In the evening of May 1, Kustoff welcomed students from Tipton-Rosemark Academy to the U.S. Capitol. He shared the visit in a tweet, stating: “I was grateful to host students from the Tipton-Rosemark Academy at the U.S. Capitol! I hope you all enjoy Washington, D.C.!”
David Kustoff, born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1966, has been residing in Germantown. He earned a BA and a JD from the University of Memphis, graduating in 1989 and 1992, respectively.
