Rep. David Kustoff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 8th district since 2017, recently shared his support for a significant legislative proposal through a series of tweets. Kustoff, who succeeded Stephen Fincher and holds degrees from the University of Memphis, is advocating for President Trump’s economic initiatives.
On May 16, 2025, Rep. Kustoff expressed enthusiasm for passing “@POTUS’s One Big, Beautiful Bill”, stating it would “inject rocket fuel into our economy,” enhance domestic manufacturing, and solidify former President Trump’s legacy. He urged action with the words: “Time to get it done.”
Later that day, Kustoff tweeted about an appearance on NewsTalk989 with hosts Ditch and Tim Van Horn. In this segment, he highlighted how “.@POTUS and @HouseGOP are fighting to put American workers, businesses, and families first.” He also discussed the role of the Ways and Means Committee in supporting Trump’s bill.
In another tweet on May 16, Kustoff reiterated the importance of unity within the House GOP to pass @POTUS’s One Big, Beautiful Bill. He outlined key components of Trump’s Economic Package: lowering taxes across income levels, providing relief to farmers and small businesses, boosting domestic manufacturing, and avoiding a proposed 26% tax hike.
David Kustoff was born in Memphis in 1966 and resides in Germantown. His educational background includes a BA obtained in 1989 and a JD earned in 1992 from the University of Memphis.
