University of Tennessee at Martin Soccer Closes Out Homestand Against Lindenwood on Thursday

The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team wraps up its three game homestand when playing new Ohio Valley Conference member Lindenwood on Thursday, Oct. 6. Action is set to get underway at 5 p.m.

The Skyhawks (2-6-3, 0-2-1 OVC) enter the contest looking to wrap up the first half of the league schedule on a high note after picking up their first points of the conference season with a 2-2 tie against Tennessee Tech. The tandem of Nyeemah Prescod-Beckles and Catey Hunt got the Skyhawks on the board with a pair of second half goals.

Ten different players have scored for UT Martin this season with senior Megan Drake pacing the team with four goals and an assist for nine points. Makayla Robinson and Hunt have also scored multiple goals with two each while Robinson has tallied two assists to bring her scoring total up to six.

Lindenwood (4-6-3, 1-1-2 OVC) has recorded five points in the standings after picking up a win over Little Rock in its first match as an league member while also recording back-to-back scoreless ties against Tennessee Tech and Southeast Missouri.

The Lions are led offensively by Rachel Jackson with four goals on the season while both Jacqueline Baetz (one goal, two assists) and Eyglo Thorsteinsdottir (two goals) have four points on the year. Goalkeeper Sam Blazek has recorded back-to-back shutouts to bring her season total up to five while notching 53 saves in nine starts.

Thursday's match marks the first meeting between the two programs after Lindenwood recently joined the Division I ranks and the Ohio Valley Conference back in February of 2022.
