Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lion volleyball inks New Albany record-holding setter

Looking forward to the 2023 volleyball campaign, the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions announce the signing of New Albany High School's Masey Kate Adams.

The setter amassed 2,504 assists, 1,365 digs, and 324 service aces - all program records - for the NAHS Lady Bulldogs. As the captain of her team in 2021 and 2022, Adams led her squad to the MHSAA 4A semifinal match where they fell to the eventual state champions in five sets.

Adams was part of six division champion teams as a Lady Bulldog, being named to the All-Division 1-4A first team for the 2020, 2021, and 2022 seasons. She was the division's most valuable player in her junior campaign. She was selected to the Mississippi Coaches' Association All-State team and played in the Mississippi Coaches' Association All-Star Game.

"I am humbled and honored to become a Freed-Hardeman Lion and be a part of this amazing school," said the new signee. "I can't wait to make memories and win games! Go Lions!"

FHU head coach Todd Humphry said of his new charge, "I'm excited to add Masey to our program. Watching her develop as a player for the past couple of years at camp has us looking forward to getting her on campus. Her athleticism and competitiveness will allow her to fit right into our program."
