The King University women's wrestling team had six individuals earned medals at the Bill Farrell Memorial International on Friday and Saturday, including assistant coach Amanda Hendey. Samara Chavez led the way with a gold medal performance.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chavez won all three of her matches at 53 kilograms, including the final two by technical fall.
- She was not scored on in the tournament as she won her first bout 8-0, followed by back-to-back 10-0 technical fall victories. Chavez defeated Arelys Valles, Virginia Foard and Chloe Ayres.
- Hendey dropped her first bout at 65 kilograms, but came back with two wins in the consolation bracket to take bronze.
- She avenged her opening 6-5 defeat to Maya Letona, earning a 10-0 technical fall over Letona in the third-place bout.

53 kg – Samara Chavez 3-0, gold
57 kg – Melanie Mendoza 1-2, bronze
59 kg – Montana DeLawder 1-2, bronze
