The King University men's wrestling team had eight placers, including one champion at the King Open on Saturday. Preston Soriano led the way for the Tornado, taking the top spot at 125 pounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Soriano started his day with a fall over Devon Diaco of Davidson College and closed his day with a 6:04 fall over Gavin Hayes of Emmanuel College to take the title at 125 pounds.
- Austin Kolikas reached the final at 149 pounds with a pair of pins, giving him a second-place finish on the day.
- At 157 pounds, Trent Mahoney finished second and Clint Morriesette came back to finish third.
- Mahoney won three matches to reach the final, one by technical fall and another by pin over Parker Moore of Notre Dame College (Ohio) in 4:20. However, he fell in the final, giving him a second-place finish.
- Morrissette fell in the quarterfinal, but came back with four straight wins, including a 1:12 pin of Jorden Schlossman of Belmont Abbey College. He followed that with a technical fall before a 7-4 decision over Logan Fite gave him a third-place finish.
- Vincent Galang took a runner-up finish at 165 pounds with a pair of victories, but fell in the championship bout.
- Samari Suddeath reached the semifinals at 174 pounds with a pair of technical fall victories. He then earned a 5-3 decision over Markeith Drakeford-Yegge of Limestone University before falling in the third-place bout to take fourth.
- Dallin Ewart finished runner-up at 184 pounds following wins by pin and technical fall to reach the final.
- At 285 pounds, Jacob Telles dropped his first match, but bounced back to finish third with four straight wins.
- He took wins by fall and technical fall to reach the third-place bout where he topped Kobe Thornton of Bluefield University 3-1.
