Adamsville Police Department DARE Program and Graduation Ceremony

Since the start of the school year, APD DARE instructor, Officer Ricky Howell, has made weekly trips to the Adamsville Elementary School to educate the 6th grade students at AJHS through the DARE program. D.A.R.E. is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches children how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives. This year millions of school children around the world will benefit from D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), the highly acclaimed program that gives kids the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs, and violence. Chief Reagan has made it a priority that our department be involved in our schools and we consider the DARE program to play a major part in accomplishing that goal. We are grateful for Officer Howells dedication and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to make a positive impact on the youth of our community.

The 2022-2023 DARE program will conclude on 12/09/2022 at 9:30am with a DARE graduation ceremony to be held at Adamsville Elementary School. Family members of those students participating in this program are encouraged to attend the ceremony. A reception will be held at the conclusion of the ceremony.
