Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) student-athlete Reagan Thompson was named NJCAA Softball Player of the Week and TCCAA Region VII Player of the Week for the week of March 12-18, 2023.

Reagan hit big this week with six home runs (HR), 15 runs batted in (RBI), and a batting average of 0.684, leading the Lady Eagles to a 6-0 week.

Reagan is a Dyer County High School graduate in her first season at Dyersburg State. She is currently batting .492 with 15 HRs and 35 RBIs. She now leads the TCCAA in HRs and RBIs, while her .492 batting average ranks third in the region.  “Reagan is a great young lady on and off the field. I am excited to have her here for another year and a half and look forward to helping her with four-year college/university recruitment options. She is a very skilled and talented athlete,” stated George White, Softball Head Coach.

Coach White is entering his 11th year as the head softball coach at DSCC. In 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022 the Lady Eagles were named one of the NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year with an overall grade point average of 3.00 or higher. Last season, the Lady Eagles set the school record with 39 wins and became nationally ranked for the first time in program history. The Lady Eagles possess a 14-8 record to begin the 2023 campaign. “We are starting 7-8 first-year students a game right now, and they are getting better daily. I really like the make-up of this team and look forward to watching them become extremely dangerous as we head down the stretch,” said Coach White.
