The Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) made available to Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) for students must be expended before June 30, 2023. DSCC is happy to report that all student funding has been awarded in full.

The U.S. Department of Education (USDOE) released guidance related to CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Funding (HEERF) in 2020 to higher education institutions to assist students with unmet expenses as a result of COVID-19. Funds must have been used to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus, such as course materials, technology, food, housing, health care, childcare, or other costs of attendance related items.

“These funds have greatly benefitted our students during these challenging few years. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent consequences, without these funds, many of these students would not have been able to begin, continue or complete their higher educational goals,” stated President Dr. Scott Cook.
