Rep. David Kustoff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee's 8th district since 2017, offered comments on various topics through tweets earlier this month. Kustoff, who has a background in law and agriculture, has been active in addressing different issues ranging from honoring military families to advocating for agricultural leadership.
On April 5, 2025, Rep. Kustoff tweeted in honor of Gold Star Spouses Day. He expressed reverence for the families of fallen service members, emphasizing the lasting memory of their sacrifices. Kustoff stated, "On Gold Star Spouses Day, we honor the surviving loved ones of our nation’s fallen service members. We will never forget the service and sacrifice that you and your family have made for our great nation."
On April 7, 2025, Kustoff tweeted about supporting a nomination within the Department of Agriculture. He highlighted his backing for Judge Stephen Vaden to become Deputy Secretary of the USDA. Kustoff acknowledged Vaden's farming background and his capability to represent the agricultural sector, tweeting "Honored to join my colleagues in the TN delegation to support the nomination of Judge Stephen Vaden as Deputy Secretary of @USDA. As a farmer from West TN, Judge Vaden is uniquely qualified to advocate for America's Ag industry."
In another tweet on the same day, Kustoff addressed an incident involving a drone in Georgia. The drone, which was transporting drugs and a cellphone, crashed into a house on its way to a prison. This occurrence spurred Kustoff to advocate for legislative measures against prison-based crime, stating, "A drone crashed into a house in Georgia carrying drugs & a cellphone headed for a prison. This is another example of why we need the Cellphone Jamming Reform Act. Criminals are running crime rings from inside our prisons. It’s time to put an end to it."
