The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field team will compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships from May 14-16, according to a May 13 announcement. The event will take place at the Coleman Sports Complex in Little Rock, Arkansas.

This marks the first time that Little Rock has hosted an OVC Championship since joining the conference before the 2022-23 season. The competition is significant as it serves as the season finale for UT Martin’s track and field athletes.

Earlier this year, UT Martin recorded five podium finishes and broke two school records at the OVC Indoor Championships. During last year’s outdoor championships in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the team earned five medals and set three new school records.

Several Skyhawks athletes are currently ranked among the top performers in their events within the conference. Khalid White holds sixth place in the 200 meters with a time of 21.32 seconds and leads the league in the 400 meters with a time of 46.62 seconds, both achieved at the Joe Walker Invite. In distance events, David Stukey ranks second (3:45.42) and Angus Monro fourth (4:47.18) on this season’s best list for 1500 meters.

Other notable rankings include Danielle Mudd’s ninth-best conference time in the women’s 5k (17:37.80), Will Douglas’ third place finish in men’s 10k (30:32.81), and Meg Wiginton’s fifth spot in women’s 400 meter hurdles (1:04.23). Reese Settle set a school record with her steeplechase performance (11:06.42), ranking second on conference lists.
