The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field team concluded its 2026 season at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships with several podium finishes and personal bests, according to a May 16 announcement.
The event saw the Skyhawk men secure sixth place with 47 points, while the women’s team finished with 18 points. The meet was held in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Khalid White earned second place in the men’s 400-meter dash with a time of 46.64 seconds, giving UT Martin eight points. White also placed third in the men’s 200-meter dash (21.03), adding six more points for his team. Leanna Rose contributed to the women’s point total by finishing sixth in the women’s 400 meters (57.65) and seventh in the women’s 200 meters (24.75).
Additional scoring performances included Will Douglas’s sixth-place finish in the men’s 10,000 meters (31:29.66), David Stukey’s third-place finish in the men’s 1,500 meters (3:49.39), and Angus Monro’s eighth-place result in that same event (3:53.05). In distance events, Douglas also finished sixth in the men’s 5,000 meters (15:20.22), while Luke Johnson added two points for seventh place (15:21.27).
Ja’Kobe Ward earned eighth place in the men’s 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.57 seconds and later broke his own school record by running a time of 54.10 seconds in the men’s 400-meter hurdles, where he placed sixth overall (54.36). Sophomore Meg Wiginton captured fourth place for five points after running a time of 1:03.45 in her heat of the women’s hurdles.
In relay events, UT Martin’s men’s team—composed of White, Tristen Bough, Tobias Tanui and Elisha Lane—finished fourth overall with a time of 3:17.40; their female counterparts—Rose, Morgan Mitchell, Eliana Oquendo and Kayla Jackson—earned three points from their sixth-place finish at a time of 3:52.73.
Field athletes also made an impact as Hank Fisher scored across two events by placing fifth in shot put (14.78m) and setting a new school record with an eighth-place discus throw measuring at least one meter further than his previous best; Andy Westbrooks added four more points after finishing fifth overall with his javelin throw of over fifty-one meters.
