University of Tennessee at Martin head women’s basketball coach Kevin McMillan announced on Apr. 16 the addition of four transfer student-athletes who will join the Skyhawks for the 2026-27 season.
The announcement brings attention to UT Martin’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its women’s basketball program by adding experienced and versatile players. The new transfers are expected to contribute both on and off the court, bringing a mix of skills, toughness, and a team-first mentality.
McMillan said about the incoming group, “This group represents exactly what we’re about: great teammates who are competitors who value toughness, hard work, and are committed to winning. They each bring different strengths, but they all share the same mindset: team first, do the work, and compete every day. That’s what we built this program on and those are the standards that we hold ourselves to.”
The new additions include Chloe Chard Peloquin from Wright State with one year of eligibility remaining; Sophie Chard Peloquin from Findlay after redshirting her freshman year; Tyler Jones from New Mexico following her freshman season; and Alorian Story from Northwest Mississippi Community College after being named an NJCAA Division I All-American last season.
Each player brings unique strengths to UT Martin. McMillan described Chloe Chard Peloquin as “a competitor with size, skill, and toughness,” highlighting her ability to stretch the floor with shooting while contributing inside play. On Sophie Chard Peloquin, he said she is “the definition of a competitor” who can play multiple positions and has deep shooting range.
Regarding Tyler Jones’ arrival from New Mexico, McMillan said she is “an athletic, competitive guard who brings toughness and versatility” with high basketball IQ and energy. On Alorian Story’s addition after her standout junior college career he stated: “Alorian is a strong, physical competitor who does not back down and produces… she’s proven she can consistently produce double-doubles.”
These four transfers will join five high school recruits signed in November as part of UT Martin’s roster-building efforts for upcoming seasons.
