Greg Gordon/Men's Basketball | Dyersburg State Community College
Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) sophomore Greg Gordon scored his 1,000th career point on Wednesday, January 11, during the home game against Southwest Tennessee Community College.
Greg Gordon of Coral Springs, FL, joined DSCC’s 1,000th Point Club during the second half at the 09:32 minute mark. A brief pause in the game allowed Gordon to receive recognition for his accomplishment. After the game, Gordon was presented with a 1,000-point ball and joined on the court by Eagle fans to congratulate him.
“Greg Gordon is a phenomenal athlete and a valuable team leader. He has been a great asset for Dyersburg State both in the classroom and on the court. We are very proud of Gordon and his accomplishment,” stated Dr. Amanda Walker, vice president of advancement and external affairs and interim athletic director at DSCC.
Gordan is in his second season at Dyersburg State. He was named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Third-team All-American by the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee and All-TCCAA Special Awards Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year in April 2022.
The Dyersburg State Men’s Basketball team is 10-3 overall. Dyersburg State Eagles are back in action on Wednesday, January 18, taking on Columbia State Community College with tip-off at 7:30 p.m. at the E.H. Lannom, Jr. Gymnasium at Dyersburg State Community College.
