The following day, April 21, 2025, Kustoff expressed his condolences regarding the passing of Pope Francis, writing: "Roberta and I join those in Tennessee and around the world in mourning the loss of Pope Francis. He was a beacon of hope for many in search of compassion and peace. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Catholic community during this time."

Later that same day, Kustoff addressed his participation in a conversation concerning economic policy.
