On April 16, 2025, Kustoff highlighted the potential economic impact of expiring tax cuts instituted by former President Donald Trump. He noted, "In 2017, @realDonaldTrump @POTUS Trump delivered on his promise to cut taxes and put more money in the pockets of hard-working Tennesseans. Those tax cuts are set to expire at the end of the year. Without action, Tennessee families could see their taxes increase 26 percent."
