Rep. David Kustoff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee's 8th district since 2017, recently shared updates on his legislative and advocacy work through a series of tweets. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Kustoff has been active in Congress after succeeding Stephen Fincher in 2017.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Kustoff announced via Twitter that he introduced the Recovery of Stolen Checks Act in the House of Representatives. He stated: "NEW: I introduced the Recovery of Stolen Checks Act in the House of Representatives with @RepNicole & @RepTerriSewell. This bill gives Americans the option to receive their @USTreasury check via direct deposit if it is lost or stolen in the mail."

Later that day, at 20:36 UTC, Kustoff expressed support for efforts to uncover wasteful government spending. In his tweet, he noted: "I applaud @DOGE and @ElonMusk for uncovering egregious waste and spending abuse in our government. The American people have demanded change and it's time for accountability and transparency in Washington." He also mentioned an interview with NEWSMAX host Emma Rechenberg discussing these issues.

In another post at 22:58 UTC on February 11, Rep. Kustoff reiterated his praise for Elon Musk and DOGE's initiatives against government inefficiency. He tweeted: "ICYMI: I joined @NEWSMAX to discuss the work @ElonMusk & @DOGE are doing to expose waste, fraud, and abuse in our government spending." He commended their commitment to promoting transparency for taxpayers.
