Today, Congressman David Kustoff participated in the 73rd National Prayer Breakfast held in Washington, D.C. He led a prayer alongside President Donald J. Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson. During his remarks, Kustoff focused on a significant passage from the Torah that describes the parting of the Red Sea by God through Moses.

Kustoff highlighted how this event marked a transition for the Israelites from slavery to freedom. He noted that after crossing the sea, Moses and the people sang the "Song of the Sea," known as "Shirat HaYam" in Hebrew, which is an integral part of Jewish morning prayers.

Quoting verses from Exodus Chapter 15, Kustoff recited: “Who is like You among the powerful, O Lord? Who is like You, powerful in the holy place? Too awesome for praises, performing wonders! You inclined Your right hand; the earth swallowed them up. With Your loving kindness You led the people You redeemed; You led [them] with Your might to Your holy abode.”

He emphasized gratitude for freedom and liberation: "First and foremost, we are grateful to God for our freedom and for our liberty. In addition, we are grateful for our leaders who protect it, and the brave men and women of our Armed Services who defend it."

Kustoff concluded with a Priestly blessing: “May the Lord bless you and watch over you. May the Lord cause His countenance to shine you and favor you. May the Lord raise His countenance toward you and grant you peace.”
