Today, Congressman David Kustoff and Governor Bill Lee visited Rives in Obion County to assess the flooding situation and engage with local officials and community members.

Congressman Kustoff stated, "I have been closely monitoring the situation in Obion County and remain in constant communication with local and state officials. Roberta and I will continue to keep the families affected by this devastating flooding in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you to the first responders and various law enforcement officers for working diligently to evacuate and secure the area. In the coming days, I encourage everyone to remain vigilant, follow local guidance, and stay safe. I am committed to doing all I can on the federal level to help our community rebuild and recover."

Governor Lee expressed his support by saying, “While Tennesseans in Montgomery and Obion Counties face a long road to recovery after severe flooding, we are encouraged to see how the communities have come together to serve their neighbors in this time of need.” He added, “Maria and I continue to lift all those impacted up in prayer and thank state and local emergency officials, law enforcement, first responders, and road crews for their quick response. Damage assessments are underway to determine the best path forward to support local recovery efforts.”

Photos from their visit included Director of the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency Patrick Sheehan alongside Governor Lee, Congressman Kustoff, Obion County Mayor Steve Carr, Rives Mayor Lester Burnes; Rives Fire Chief Campbell Rice with Congressman Kustoff; as well as Obion County Sheriff Karl Jackson.
